Through the greatest trials of my life, I discovered that adversity isn't just a roadblock but a transformative force, propelling me toward personal and professional growth. 


Everything had been going great—after taking a leap and switching careers from working in physical therapy to real estate in 2004. I had found success in the industry, aligning myself with a great investor who believed in me from the beginning. It was a fast climb to the top, gaining incredible experiences in just a few short years. Achieving multiple awards during my first years in real estate. 

 

I started my first real estate brokerage in Katy, TX in 2007, right before the market crash. The market was volatile not only for real estate, but other industries as well. I learned the ups and downs and how to navigate the waters, no matter what they might bring. Amid the chaos, I faced a moment of reckoning. The financial ruin wasn't just a setback; it was a profound test of my character and resilience. I had hit rock bottom, and the climb back up seemed steep and unforgiving, but I was certainly up to the challenge. 

 

The fallout was devastating. The hardships extended beyond the professional realm; my personal life was not immune to the impact. Sleepless nights were spent grappling with the stress of mounting debts, uncertainty and the weight of responsibilities that seemed insurmountable.

 

Taking a hiatus from real estate, I ventured into the oil and gas industry. The change was both a necessity and an opportunity to gain a different perspective on business. I was able to learn about the right systems and processes needed to build a resilient business. I became obsessed with personal finances, learning how to budget and plan for the future.

 

In adversity, there is an opportunity for reinvention. Encouraged by my wife, Martha; close friends and family, I made the decision to return to real estate in 2012. My passion for it had never left. She gave me the final push I needed to try again. The journey to redemption was far from easy; it was marked by months of relentless effort, sacrifice and a determination to rise from the ashes.

 

Slowly but steadily, I came back into the real estate scene, armed with the lessons learned from my past. I prioritized building relationships, focusing on client care and quality in every aspect of my services. I helped grow a brokerage from the ground up, learning the ins and outs of building a business. With the right mindset, you can achieve anything. Contributing to the success of others became a way for me to give back, helping others avoid my mistakes. In 2023, I opened a new brokerage, Blok & Blvd. Realty with a mission to apply all I have learned to educate my associates and clients, delivering an informative, quality service. 

 

My wife and daughters, Kynnison and Kashtyn, remain my ultimate inspiration as I enter this new chapter. My kids have taught me so much, and I want to show them that no matter what obstacle you face, you can overcome it and define your own story.

 

“How do you win at Monopoly?” my daughter asked in the middle of our board game. I said, “It’s simple. You buy up the block—which included, Park Place and Boulevard.” From that, I began thinking and came up with Blok & Blvd. Realty. After growing my brokerage and team, we were invited to join Compass Real Estate. This was a strategic decision in an effort to provide my agents and clients with exceptional real estate experience. At the end of the day, all of this is for my daughters. I want to build something they can be a part of, continuing a legacy. 

 

Having experienced the many ups and downs of the real estate landscape, it became evident that success hinged on more than transactions; it is about imparting knowledge and fostering a genuine connection with clients. My mission extends beyond transactions—I aim to educate agents and clients alike, drawing from my own journey of mastering budgeting, time management, team building and the many intricacies of the real estate market. The foundation of Blok & Blvd. Realty Group was laid on principles of excellence, honesty, and transparency, working harmoniously with people and providing clients with an unparalleled experience. Through ongoing learning and refinement, I am committed to the journey of building something that transcends the ordinary, is authentic and stands the test of time.
